AI Code Buds • Grades 4–5

Learn how AI works. Code how it responds. Build something intelligent.

A 12-session live online AI and coding course for children in Grades 4–5, where students explore how AI systems work, connect each concept to coding logic and build working mini-projects from the very first session.

12-session roadmap

What your child will actually learn.

The programme moves from understanding AI systems to building and presenting a complete AI-powered product.

Sessions 1–4

Foundations

Understand AI, data and prediction before training a first model.

  1. 01Smart Machines & Coding Instructions
  2. 02Data, Labels & Variables
  3. 03Patterns, Predictions & Decision Logic
  4. 04Train an Image Recognition Model
Sessions 5–8

Intelligence in Action

Test models, explore language AI and learn how to prompt and verify responsibly.

  1. 05Confidence Scores, Loops & Model Testing
  2. 06How Language AI Works
  3. 07Prompt Engineering & Coded Prompt Builders
  4. 08Hallucinations, Grounding & Safe Responses
Sessions 9–12

Build a Product

Combine AI and coding into a working product, then test, debug and present it.

  1. 09Recommendation Systems & Scoring Logic
  2. 10Multimodal AI & Interactive Experiences
  3. 11Build an AI-Powered Product
  4. 12Test, Debug & Present the AI Product
What they build

Not just lessons — working outputs.

Students finish the programme with a portfolio of small builds that show how AI concepts connect to code.

Input–Output Mini Program

A coded interaction showing how input, instructions and output connect.

Labelled Dataset

A small dataset with categories, labels and a coded counter.

Prediction Tool

A rule-based decision tool used to compare coded logic with AI prediction.

Image Recognition Model

A trained model that recognises simple categories and triggers a coded response.

Prompt Builder

An interactive tool that combines role, task, context and output format into a structured prompt.

AI-Powered Final Product

A complete guided project that students test, improve and present live.

How the learning is balanced

AI and coding are taught together — not in separate blocks.

Coding appears throughout the programme as the logic that makes AI ideas interactive, testable and useful.

Final product thinking

Children learn how an AI-powered product fits together.

By the final project, students can trace the journey from user input to AI output and the code that controls the response.

User InputWhat the user provides
AI Model / PromptHow AI processes it
PredictionWhat AI returns
Coding LogicWhat the program decides
User ResponseWhat the user sees
What this means for your child

They learn to understand, build and question technology.

  • understand basic AI concepts instead of treating AI as a “magic” tool
  • use coding logic to control decisions, interactions and outputs
  • test whether an AI result is correct, uncertain or misleading
  • build small working systems rather than only watching demonstrations
  • explain how their final project works and where its limitations are

Final programme outcome

A tested AI-powered project with a live demonstration, plus a collection of smaller builds completed across the programme.

Parent FAQ

Before you enrol.

Is this mostly AI or mostly coding?

The programme blends both throughout. Across the full course, the learning balance is approximately 50% AI concepts and experimentation, 40% coding and integration, and 10% testing, responsible AI and presentation.

How long is the programme?

AI Code Buds runs for 12 live online sessions, with each session lasting 60 minutes.

Will my child build real projects?

Yes. Students build multiple small working outputs during the programme and finish with one complete AI-powered project that they test, improve and present.

Does the programme include responsible AI?

Yes. Students learn about hallucinations, grounding, privacy, testing, limitations and when human checking is required.
